Our family office “Sea Purity Investments” is a multi-strategy, multi-generational approach to investing which is focused on producing positive absolute returns through any market environment which over the long term will be superior to the indices. Investments cover the spectrum in public and private growth companies, income generating assets, and alternative funds. Structure of investments includes common equity, warrants, debt, convertible securities and LP interests.
We search for management teams with integrity, subject matter expertise, skin in the game and the ability to execute consistently against a timeline. Each company needs to possess a unique, defensible, scalable business model. Typical investment time frame is 2-5 years but we are always searching for assets we can own for decades. Approximately 30% of the portfolio is invested across socially responsible companies, which we define as those that deliver a positive impact to society, mankind, and/or the environment. With all things being equal, we will opt for companies that “Do Good” when afforded the opportunity.

After starting his career as a licensed broker, Matt founded Hayden Communications in 1996, an investor relations firm exclusively focused on servicing small-cap companies. That firm was sold in 2006 and is operating today under www.haydenir.com.
Matt focuses on developing a comprehensive IR strategy, key messaging and corporate communications, while scheduling countless investor meetings for select clients each year. Matt has directly worked with over 200 public and private companies to date, which have successfully raised over $10 billion in the equity/debt markets.
MZ Group is the Investor Relations firm he and Ted Haberfield built, which is supported by a group of dedicated professionals possessing extensive public market experience who take a team approach to deliver timely exposure and unparalleled customer service. A merger in 2011 created the North America services division of MZ Group, a subsidiary of the largest independent investor relations firm in the world. Today, their team represents approximately 30 public and private companies covering multiple industries.

He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he earned "a summa cum laude designation" and learned southern hospitality, but never forgets his childhood roots and ability to Blue Crabs in Annapolis, Maryland. Matt views every day as an opportunity to learn something new and constantly improve his investment acumen. He is an opportunist in every sense of the word. His immediate family includes wife Julie, daughter Gianna and son Christian. They enjoy traveling, the beach, surfing, snowboarding and just about anything outdoors.
